We are pleased to present the latest and final version of the door handle pivot design. This pivot is manufactured from high-grade steel, which offers superior durability compared to the previous aluminum version, ensuring it will outlast your door handle. The new pivot includes all necessary components: a small nylon bushing that is pre-installed, a plug-and-play pin, and a self-locking nut.

This product serves as a complete plug-and-play repair solution for the BMW E31 850 and 840 driver's side door handle pivot bar, requiring no modifications. The original BMW handle is constructed from pot metal, which is inadequate for this application. Over time, every E31 door handle is susceptible to failure, rendering the door inoperable from the outside. The original handle is no longer available from BMW, and the pivot is not sold separately.

To remove the original pivot from the handle, the outer pin must be drilled out, and the provided pin with the self-locking nut should be utilized instead. We recommend applying silicone lubricant to all pins for optimal performance. As a helpful reminder, during the reinstallation of the door handle, ensure that the locking tab is properly inserted into the lock fork. Failure to do so will result in an inability to lock the door with the key.
